I know a lot of people were bummed about this year’s conference being cancelled, but this is a great way to create learning opportunities for all of us! #iTeachMath#MTBoS#MathTechMS@nisdmsmath
🎃 Help your students review the coordinate plane with PUMPKIN CARVING. They'll make some wild pumpkins and send them into the Class Gallery for their classmates to marvel at.
s/o to Des-buddies @cmmteach & @pejorgens for inspiring this activity.

Hi #MTBoS, We are adding lots of teacher tools, to make it easier to assign & evaluate work activities.graspablemath.com. First up (& available now!): If you upload a class roster, you can see a list of your students, including those who *haven't* joined. #iteachmath#middleschoolmath
All over the world we are focused on "social distancing", but what we really mean is "physical distancing". It is important that we stay socially connected during the physical distance. #physicaldistance#backtogetherbetter#tlc2020
Here is a collection by @jocedage that has helped me learn CL. Look at the google doc link at the very top of the collection. It starts with naming the components. teacher.desmos.com/collectio…

Loving the share URL and the annotation features on zoom. I can share the online Desmos calculator and use the graph (I deleted the grid lines & worked in a blank quadrant one) as a whiteboard. Perfect for working through warm ups & helping students! @NISDPatNeff#mathrules#nerd
It’s easy to think, “kids watch videos all the time so they should be able to learn from one”. Learning from a video may be a foreign concept to some students that needs to be taught. This would also be fun to do with kids! 🤓 #MathTechMS#DesBookNISD@nisdmsmath
If you have any type of async work w/ Ss watching videos to learn content, remember that Ss need 1st to learn HOW to learn from video. Credit: @saravdwerf
This lesson on how to learn from a video has been highlight of distance learning. #mtbos#iteachmathdocs.google.com/document/d/1…
Anyone looking for a refresh in coordinate graphing? How about some Battle Boats! Great one player adaptation here by @Kurt_salisbury#DesbookNISD@nisdmsmath
Try this...I used a random number generator to create unique boat locations and an aggregate graph to show the number of guesses for everyone in the class.
