Do you "wedge" the PA catheter in the CICU because you don't trust the surrogate PA diastolic? Compelling safety reasons to avoid doing this. A new study in @JCardFail validating the use of PA diastolic for most patients with left-sided predominant CS. onlinejcf.com/article/S1071-…

My #Cardiology paper of the year: Daily Step Count in @JACCJournals The optimal steps to ⬇️ CVD events is NOT THAT HIGH! Totally achievable! Its easy to get discouraged by the marathoners, bodybuilders, etc. Sure that's great, but not necessary. Do enough, the benefits follow

Yes! #ICE is the modality of the future for interventional procedural guidance. ICE allows for procedures with moderate sedation and same-day discharge. 3D-ICE in particular will soon become standard. LAAO, septal, & valvular interventions: ICE early, and ICE often!

Chill out: it's okay to use ICE! #ICE-guidance for #LAAC is safe compared to #TEE guidance with similar complication rates ➡️ doi.org/10.1016/j.jscai.2022… @SalmanZahidMD @SachinGoelMD @AGoldsweig @adnanalkhouli @MCoylewright

There is much interest in screening for #AF. However, we don’t know what duration of AF is significant, how often we would find it and if screening will prevent strokes. In our new paper in @ESC_Journals #EPEuropace we simulated AF screening. doi.org/10.1093/europace/eua… 1/3 🧵
