I trust the EU to try and protect my interest more then our government and I'm British...

Sharing this sort of overt racism is now horrifically common on this site, but worth calling out that Hannan is a member of the House of Lords, appointed by the Conservatives.
A French friend phones. I tell him I’m surprised that he is not watching the France-Sénégal match. He makes a peculiarly Gallic noise that I can describe only as a vocal shrug. “The legal immigrants are playing the illegal immigrants.”

People who grew up in the same area as me and went to the same school as me, actually believe this nonsense. My Muslim friend comes to my gaff, and has a cheese toastie while I eat a bacon and cheese one. He’s not arsed or offended by a piece of meat. He just doesn’t eat it.
Muslims in the UK are calling for a BAN of people eating Bacon in public during Praying hours. They argue that seeing people eating Bacon is untidy to their faith. What's your message to them?

FIFA is proposing that the opening match of their inaugural under-15s football festival should be Israel against Palestine. By @Dan_Sheldon_ nytimes.com/athletic/7360929…

They did the same thing against Brazil 12 years ago, and it's not even their biggest WC win this century...

Germany winning 7-1, it makes you question what the point of opening up the tournament to 48 teams was?

🏙️ Views across Manhattan vs an LED screen in Salford... That makes it: ITV 1, BBC 0 Our man Alan Tyers sat up watching the football all night so you don’t have to, and here is what he learnt ⤵️ telegraph.co.uk/football/202…

The enshittification of this World Cup in every conceivable way has certainly been a sight to see

This is extremely pedantic, but is it just me who is a bit annoyed about the broadcast transitions being the FIFA logo, instead of the wc logo/trophy?

FIFA seems a lot more prominent as a brand around World Cup matches this year - more than “World Cup” is seen

A really nice moment here. Bosnia and Herzegovina fans get caught up in the middle of Canada’s March to the Match. And they’re being met with high fives as they pass through the sea of red.

Seeing how some clubs drop their women's teams when they need to make cuts, so the existence of independent teams that aren't affiliated with a men's team is good for the sport and the leagues, hopefully Durham can find someone in time
Breaking: The WSL2 club Durham have announced they will have to "cease operations" unless they can find an investor or a buyer within the next 21 days, because without fresh investment they do not have sufficient funds for next season. #BarclaysWSL2

TRNC ARE CONIFA EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS! 🏆 What a performance. After falling 1-0 behind, the Turkish Cypriot national team produced a remarkable comeback, scoring six unanswered goals to defeat Padania 6-1 and lift the CONIFA European Championship. Four goals from Erhun Öztümer, alongside strikes from Şoför and Çalban, sealed an unforgettable victory for the Turkish Cypriot people. After decades of sporting isolation, our national team has shown exactly what Turkish Cypriot football can achieve when given the opportunity to compete internationally. European Champions. Congratulations to every player, coach, volunteer and supporter who made this possible. Today belongs to the Turkish Cypriot people. ❤️

If FIFA threatened to disqualify the US then the US would just kick everyone out and force FIFA to cancel the tournament, the US is leveraging a position knowing FIFA basically can't stop them, a recipe that future hosts may repeat to block participants they don't like
The USA finally gave Visa's to Iran's football team yesterday, but it hasn't given any to their training staff. If FIFA wasn't corrupt it would tell Donald Trump that the USA will be disqualified if he doesn't stop unfairly rigging the competition.

12 goals in 2 games is definitely a nice return for the travel involved in attending the games, and now I can say I've seen Greenland play, and win, how many can say that?

In the final minutes Northern Cyprus got their 6th, someone may want to check the record books on Padania's biggest loss 6-1 and the whistle blows shortly after

5-1? This game has become a demolition for Northern Cyprus, sweeping through Padania again and again, the only question now is how many?!

Early in the second half and it's now 4-1, already looking like Northern Cyprus will have their hands on the trophy at the end of the day, Padania simply can't keep up anymore

It's 3-1 at half time, quiet it was not, both teams with plenty to say and a few names in the ref's book, plenty of goals though, 3-1 to Northern Cyprus but certainly not decided yet
