June 14, 2017: our daughter Rebecca Baruch graduated from high school in the Netherlands. Weeks later she made aliyah. After a preparatory year, she joined the #IDF, serving for four years before returning to duty on the afternoon of October 7, 2023. Rebecca passed away on January 21, 2024. She is buried on Mount Herzl, the only female soldier of this war accorded that honor, plot 18A - third row from the top, third grave from the left. Like we're really watching transphobes assaulting people with "masculine" features or clothing in the women's room and attempting to pretend any amount of perceived masculinity isn't punished for anyone but cis men? Any sort of deviation is punished, because of course it is.

Weirdly enough, trans men aren't seen and valued as "real" men by cis people, which by nature means they're not in the group of privileged men who are entitled to masculinity. And it's in the exact same way that cis women are denied masculinity beyond vaguely "fem-androgynous."

Cuz in this mythical universe where masculinity is always rewarded then you'd see masc women also rewarded with status and power above feminine women. But you don't, they're attacked for it. Masculinity is only rewarded in CIS men, because that's who they assume it belongs to.
