Stop Construction of a Trump Golf Course and Resort on the Gold Coast - Sign the Petition! c.org/n76L6NL8KC via @ChangeAUS
Well done, @DavidShoebridge šŸ’ššŸ‘ØšŸ¼ā€āš–ļøāš–ļø šŸ‘ You just dragged Defence into the open on their $14.4M Palantir deal the same AI-powered spying suite happily used for targeting in Gaza, Lebanon, and beyond. No ethics review. No transparency. Just another shady contract extension for the ultimate shystering-and-surveillance machine. Palantir doesn’t protect Australia it turns our data into a targeting package for whoever’s paying. Time to #GetPalantirOuttaOz together with the #Big4Con KPMG that run our Defence Department before this creeps any further into our defence, policing, and civilian life. Australians deserve better than Big Brother software from Peter Thiel’s outfit šŸ–•. #SnoutTheCon 🐷

Let’s put that into perspective: Pauline Hanson received a pay rise worth around $100,000 a year a 42.5% increase while reportedly attending only 53% of Senate votes. At the same time, she opposed a pay rise of around $3,000 for some of Australia’s lowest-paid workers. A six-figure increase for politicians, but objections when working Australians get a modest boost to help with rising costs. Where’s the media outrage? Where’s the scrutiny? #auspol

Captive breeding of Dolphins for human entertainment is disgraceful and must be stopped RIP Dottie #BoycottSeaWorld
Dottie, a bottlenose dolphin who lived 39 years at SeaWorld, died this week without ever feeling the rhythm of the ocean, or the freedom she deserved. SeaWorld describes Dottie as a devoted mother of four calves, but they separated her from every single one of them. That is not devotion, that is the reality of captivity, where profit determines family bonds. Dottie was born into concrete tanks and died in them. She never experienced the open sea. She spent her life performing for tourists, not because it was natural or enriching, but because SeaWorld's business model depends on it. SeaWorld positions itself as an institution rooted in marine science. They know, because the science is unambiguous, that cetaceans are highly intelligent, wide-ranging, socially complex animals. They know that no tank, however large, can meet the physical or psychological needs of a dolphin. And yet they continue their breeding program, ensuring that more animals like Dottie will be born into the same captive cycle, never knowing the life they were meant to live. Dottie's story should not end with a tribute post. It should end with change. SeaWorld must end its dolphin breeding program now. No more calves born into captivity. No more mothers separated from their young. No more lives defined by performance and concrete walls. Dottie deserved better. The dolphins who come after her deserve better.

Yes I’m #Australian too and fully agree
Yes, I’m Australian. Yes, I have every right to discuss US and global geopolitics. Yes, I have every right to criticise Israel. It’s not that hard to understand that US policies affect us all, like the illegal Iran war for example. I see it at my petrol bowser. I see it in the price of my groceries. I see it in the blatant corruption of my AIJAC-funded politicians. And I feel it every time I see innocent civilians being constantly slaughtered by a genocidal regime. Any belligerent clown that tries to tell me to ā€˜shut my mouth’ because I’m Australian, can honestly just go and get fucked. Thank-you for your attention to this matter āœŒļø

Wonderful news
A bricklayer in East Yorkshire has spent 35 years putting up barn owl nest boxes on weekends. This year, the region saw 308 owlets hatch. His name is Robert Salter. He's 56 and does bricklaying full time. In 1990, he saw a piece on the news about a man in Lincolnshire installing barn owl boxes, and decided he'd do the same. He started with five. He now has more than 350 boxes scattered across fields, farms, outbuildings, and trees in East Yorkshire. Every June, he takes four weeks off from bricklaying and visits them with his wife Sue. Scrambling up ladders, ringing chicks, cleaning boxes, repairing the ones the weather got to. He's a licensed bird ringer for the British Trust for Ornithology. In 2024, the region ringed 95 owlets. In 2025, the count was 308. The Barn Owl Trust says that nationally, this year was "pretty poor" for barn owl breeding, but east Yorkshire is the exception, and it's the exception because of one man with a ladder. The barn owl population in the UK was estimated at 4,000 pairs in the mid-2000s and crashed to roughly 1,000 by the early 2010s. The species is still recovering. Most of conservation is one person who refuses to give up.

A well-argued rejoinder to the bilious tide of saint-claiming going on right now. From a business owner/originator who clearly knows what he’s talking about. Bravo

Amos Goldberg, Professor of Genocide Studies at The Hebrew University in Jerusalem "Yes, it is genocide. It's so difficult and painful to admit it, but we can no longer avoid this conclusion. Jewish history will henceforth be stained" Is there anyone more qualified and unbiased?

Amazing Science #Truth #Health
Finnish scientists trucked in real forest dirt and grass and laid it over the gravel at four daycare yards. They let the kids dig around in it for a month. The blood tests came back with changes the researchers hadn’t expected to see so fast or so clear. The study ran at ten daycares in two Finnish cities with 75 kids aged three to five. Four of the yards got the forest treatment: about a tennis court worth of soil and grass laid over the gravel, plus planters and peat blocks the kids could dig and climb on. Three others stuck with their normal gravel yards. The last three were daycares where the kids were already visiting real forests every day. After one month, the variety of bacteria living on the kids’ skin shot up, and the kind that helps train the skin’s immune defenses jumped the most. Their gut bacteria started to look like the gut bacteria of the forest-visiting kids. Their blood showed more of the immune cells whose job is to keep the body from freaking out at harmless stuff like pollen and peanuts, and overall inflammation dropped. The kids on the plain gravel yards showed none of this. Childhood asthma in the US doubled between 1980 and 1995. Food allergies in kids jumped 50 percent between 1997 and 2011, then jumped another 50 percent between 2007 and 2021. And peanut allergies in one-year-olds tripled between 2001 and 2017. The Finnish researchers think one of the reasons is simple: kids today don’t get dirty enough. 37 percent of American preschoolers now spend an hour or less outside on a normal weekday. Their immune systems are getting trained in environments stripped of the bacteria humans have always lived around. Aki Sinkkonen, who led the study, put it in plain words: ā€œIt would be best if children could play in puddles and everyone could dig organic soil.ā€ The Finnish government is now helping pay for daycares across the country to make the same changes.

This is beyond horrifying. New data shows Israel has killed over 680,000 Palestinians in Gaza. Among them: • 380,000 infants under 5 • 99,000 children over 5 That’s 479,000 children murdered by Israel. Israel isn’t ā€œdefending itself.ā€ It is wiping out Palestinian life.
ā€œThe war in Gazaā€ is actually ā€œthe Genocide in Gazaā€ ā€œThe war in Lebanonā€ is actually ā€œthe Genocide in Lebanonā€ ā€œThe not war in Iranā€ is actually ā€œthe illegal war in Iranā€ ā€œThe heightened tensions with Cubaā€ is actually ā€œthe unilateral U.S. aggression against Cubaā€ ā€œCollateral damage and human shieldsā€ is actually ā€œmurder children and innocent civiliansā€ The media uses euphemisms to control the narrative. The media is complicit

Farmers have figured out that the cheapest pesticide is a strip of flowers. When you plant wildflowers through a crop field, not just around the edge but in strips running through the middle, you get ladybugs, lacewings, hoverflies, and parasitic wasps living in the field instead of visiting it. They eat the aphids, the caterpillars, and the mites for free, all summer long. In controlled trials, fields with tailored flower strips had leaf-beetle numbers 40 to 50% lower and crop damage cut by around 60%, enough to drop below the threshold where spraying was even considered worth it. The flowers attract a standing army to our fields. We spent decades engineering chemicals to kill the insects eating the crop, when the insects that eat those insects would have worked for the price of seed.
