Happy to share our work on epicardial adipose tissue and exercise hemodynamics in HFpEF in @JCFINT 🚀 We used cMRI ➕ invasive hemodynamics ➕ upright exercise to understand the effect of EAT in patients with obesity and HFpEF doi.org/10.1016/j.yjcafi.202… @DenWakeham @BrazileTiffany

Very happy to share that I just received the Notice of Award for my NIH K99/R00 that will perform high-resolution phenotyping of the hemodynamic consequences of thoracic aortic aneurysms and their repair. Look forward to improving patient outcomes for those with aortic disease!

Our latest cover image comes from this article from @DenWakeham (@UTSWMedCenter) et al., as they set out to determine if it is possible to assess #aortic stiffness from standard #cardiac MRI. 📜 buff.ly/fvmdU4S

Collected some our of thoughts regarding heart-lung interactions during exercise in patients with HFpEF in Heart Failure Reviews. Really, a lot of unknowns in both healthy and clinical populations. Bonus points if you catch the lyrics ;) link.springer.com/article/10…

Really happy to see this published in EJHF. Joey, Chris and I show that middle-aged adults with severe obesity present with absolute hypervolemia, relative hypovolemia and disproportionate LV enlargement. @utswheart @UTSWMedCenter @texashealth @IEEMPHD doi.org/10.1002/ejhf.70037

Great work from @AlexSullivan_MD, @JoshuaBeckmanMD & others. Really glad to be involved with this great team and important work. Much more to come from @JoshuaBeckmanMD, myself and our colleagues in the @UTSWMedCenter Division of Vascular Medicine.
Ever wonder why walking capacity varies across ABIs in patients with PAD? Calf skeletal muscle microvascular dysfunction, not conduit artery occlusive disease, is the strongest driver of walking impairment in PAD. Happy to share our work in @CircIntv. ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/…

Really happy to see our paper published in @JHypertension. @Deoliveiragdc and I show that the BP pressure response to exercise is not different between hypertensive adults with LVH and healthy controls when normalized for VO2. journals.lww.com/jhypertensi…

Happy to share our recent paper published in @JPhysiol that shows, for the first time in humans, that Neuropeptide Y mediated vasoconstriction is sensitive to functional sympatholysis, to a similar degree that is alpha-adrenergic vasoconstriction. physoc.onlinelibrary.wiley.c… First of many papers in this area from Chris M. Hearon Jr.'s lab at @IEEMPHD (@texashealth) and @UTSWMedCenter. Thanks to our collaborators, Paul Fadel and Scott Davis, on this project.
