From a Ukrainian Armed Forces publication regarding drones in urban combat:
“future military operations are likely to include more urban combats, asymmetric threats, and hybrid warfare, where clear front lines are absent. In such conditions, technologies such as drones or [AI] systems can play a supporting role, but only infantrymen can effectively operate in complex environments.
For example, in densely populated cities, soldiers “on the ground” are needed to interact with civilians, make quick decisions in unpredictable situations, and perform tasks that require human judgment. Machines cannot yet fully replace this unique human ability to adapt to the chaos of war."
"The tactics of the infantry of the future will be flexible and autonomous… However, we do not abandon classical methods. In urban areas or dense forests, where technology is limited, the physical presence and unconventional solutions of the infantryman are indispensable.”
