An amendment to RPT Rule 44, the censure provision, was just voted down on the floor. It would have made it a censurable offense to vote against the House GOP Caucus-endorsed candidate for speaker on the first day of session.
@rdgarcia03 argued that passing it would make
@brianeharrison censurable for voting against
@Burrows4TX for speaker on 90(R) Day 1 next year because āBurrows will be the caucus nominee.ā The argument seemed to be persuasive to the audience.
