When I do an exam - I get a syllabus and revise using books based on consistent approaches. Everyone takes the same exam. Marking is standardised. Any reason why @CareQualityComm approach is so variable ?

In the UK approx 1 in 500 of its entire population has died from Covid so far. In Japan, with similar risk factors in terms of age etc, the figure is 1 in 7,000 and UK has suffered a larger fall in GDP. The main difference is how our governments have chosen to handle the pandemic

In the last month the UK has had: ▪️~40,000 Covid Admissions ▪️~1,500 ICU Covid Admissions ▪️~4,000 Covid Deaths . That is almost the same hospital burden as an entire years worth of Flu, and around three YEARS worth of Flu deaths...In ONE MONTH! [Source:ONS]

Wednesday was the first anniversary of vaccinating for Covid. Since there have been over 100 million doses given more than 90% of which were through services managed and run by GPs. That’s equivalent to just under 1/3rd of the normal annual workload in general practice

No - I would suggest Hospitals keep Patients Informed about elective lists and how they can support patients through it. This is about what is right for People not organisations passing work to each other.

NHS Pensions - Breaching the Lifetime Allowance could be within 10years of starting your career. By the time people realise they could breach it's too late @BMA_Pensions @BMA_GP @DrFJameel @BMA_Consultants This is being pushed @GOVUK. Are you highlighting this to your members?

No - GPs need to continue doing their own work, supporting their patients, referring cancers and the Hospitals need to work on clearing their Backlog. We are here to help, but we can not do everyone's work. #TeamGP @BMA_GP @DrFJameel This is Worload and Risk Transfer

GPs never closed! Consultations have gone up by 10% in the last 12m. We’re consulting 1 MILLION patients per day! 60% are F2F. This is with an 8000 FTE GP deficit It’s INCREDIBLE this volume is being done whilst keeping waiting rooms as empty as poss to prevent Covid spread.

The reason the the ED is so busy is many gp surgeries look like this today at 8:45. ( nurse bloods appt. ) A lady came to reception for a same day appointment for a sick toddler and was told to go to ED We need to re-open GPs

Not fit for purpose. You need a clinician to assess and manage the patient, it may not need same day GP assessment. This will increase workload. It should be designed as a wrap around service with funding for a clinician (might not be GP) @BMA_GP @RSharmaPharma @DrFJameel
