My last retweet before closing this account and abandoning the leader of the brown shirts’ platform. Skies are bluer elsewhere for now.

Crowding kills.
emj.bmj.com/content/39/3/168. For every 72 people waiting 8-12 hours before admission there is one additional death within 30 days.

🧵Battling Antivax Disinfo🧵 Vaccination did NOT increase cancer deaths. Here I took the 6 deadliest cancers (all 5 survival rates under 50%) in a highly vaccinated population (25-54), and we can see ZERO evidence of vaccine-related cancer deaths, all the way to May 2024. /1

Our refugee health clinic in #YYC has had to start a gofundme campaign to stay open in #Alberta despite billions in budget surplus and highest immigration levels ever. It’s one of the Gold standard clinics in 🇨🇦, operating for >20yrs, cared for many… #abpoli #ableg #abhealth
"The Mosaic Primary Care Network has provided operational funding for our program since 2013.  We have been notified that there will no longer be funding for the clinic beyond April 1, 2025." Literally crowdfunding healthcare for the vulnerable in Alberta. #abpoli #cdnpoli

Hey Calgarians: are you watching what's happening in EDM hospitals, scratching your head, but being thankful it isn't happening to you? Well, don't get comfy! The GOVT has decided NOT TO ACT and is allowing the FM Hospitalist funding model to wither and die why you should care:/1

Thread worth reading.
This is pretty crazy. Obviously it is not supposed to work this way. A short thread... AB healthcare is organized (or was) along a continuum. There was an expectation that people would be able to access general healthcare locally. We call that primary care. /1

I missed this announcement but if our Minister said that AHS was responsible for recruiting ER docs for rural hospitals, well, she is largely wrong. Let me explain this a bit as I suspect many others don't understand this distinction either. /1

A critical correction govt should understand regarding "recruitment of ER docs in rural": ER docs in rural communities are FM specialists! No Rural Generalists in these communities = closed hosptials and EDs. That's why the new funding model for FM is desperately needed /1

Hey Alberta… when we’re done talking about chemtrails (and the world is done laughing at us) could we talk about our imploding health care system? We desperately need Informed Reform ( informedreform.ca/ ) Govt is NOT listening to your physicians

Remember a few years ago when the UCP government decided that wait time for orthopedic surgeries was going to be THE health indicator they’d focus on? Pull the threads from there and you end up here. Gov’t funding and priorities dictate exactly how AHS is allowed to spend money.
Frustrated Rocky Mountain House doctors say interference by Alberta Health Services has driven the town's only general surgeon to leave — and it's not the first time it's happened: “This is our third surgeon now to leave for the exact same reasons." trib.al/hlYg6Lw

No. No. No. NO! That terrible @BMJPublicHealth paper did NOT show vaccines fueled rise in excess deaths! Paper provides ZERO evidence on that. And ALL available evidence (lots) shows exact opposite: vaccination linked to reduced all-cause deaths. Headlines like this will do MASSIVE harm. Senior UCP party leadership is trying to change the decision making process on recommended (and permitted) childhood vaccines from being made by medical experts and data, to being made by politicians influenced by the conspiracy theory du jour. A very dangerous direction to head.
NEW: Senior UCP organizers are pushing Danielle Smith to change COVID vaccine policy, and party group is hosting speaker event to promote claim vaccines are unsafe, kill children. cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/u…

You don’t care about health care… until you need it… It’s time we all care about health care.
People must wonder why we drone on about healthcare. It's because among life's miseries, being sick is among the worst. Being sick touches everything. And when you're sick, as you will be, you want a MD, nurse and healthcare team to help you. That is why we drone on.

Nice to see that despite social media being full of inflammatory trolls and bots, most Albertans will still do what they can to help out the communal good when asked.
Can visibly see where the emergency alert came out. Load dropped pretty suddenly around 18:45.

Traveling across the province: so many issues arising due to workforce and funding models. Some funding models have not been adjusted for >10-15 years! Recruitment and retention issues are massive. I’m very worried as to who will staff our hospitals and do after hours care…

I’d like to make a couple of comments on a particular part of the Manning report. This is about using ‘non-scientific’ evidence or in his own words work that had not been arrived at or proved in some laboratory. /1
