I've been to 100s of scientific conferences. I've never seen a technical talk get cheers, much less a standing ovation, but this result on pancreatic cancer really deserves it
Cheers, chills, and a standing ovation when RASolute 302 showed unprecedented survival on daraxonrasib for patients with progressive pancreatic cancer Seldom do you sense you’re witnessing a historic moment in cancer care but this feels like ras targeting has arrived #ASCO26

Evidence of these immune-related functions of canonically non-immune cells appears in the biomaterials literature, most frequently in the contexts of fibrosis, cancer, tolerance, and tissue regeneration.

However, these findings are often treated as secondary rather than explored in depth. As a result, this emerging area represents a substantial opportunity for both mechanistic discovery and therapeutic innovation.

Congrats to our 2nd and 3rd @DoloffLab @JHUBME PhDs Jessica Stelzel and @stuart_bauer! Keeping the bobblehead tradition (1 for mentee & 1 for mentor) alive that my lab started for my birthday, w/later post-it-folded face mask addition during covid! @HopkinsMedicine @TTECJHU

The heart’s constant beating may actively suppress tumor growth in cardiac tissues, a new Science study reports. This is because cellular pathways in these tissues alter gene regulation in cancer cells to keep them from proliferating. The findings shed light on the role of mechanical forces in protecting the heart from cancer and may pave the way to new cancer therapies based on mechanical stimulation. Learn more: scim.ag/4cWFImV
