Some people mistakenly use "fair" when they mean "equal", and "equal" when they mean "fair". Other people, based on the last few days, willfully and knowingly misuse these words with cynical intent. The former is understandable, the latter is unethical.

By luck of birth, I didn't have #StudentDebt until my doctorate. I'm so happy for the millions of people who'll have the crushing weight of this debt lifted from their shoulders, or at least see a light ahead in a much shorter tunnel. A game changer for millions who need it most.

Some of the most interesting programs I worked on when I was @UCTGSB incorporated/were based on @dschoolUCT's people and concepts. Getting some training (as I was fortunate enough to get for free!) on #DesignThinking is something I still recommend to people on a regular basis.

“Design-led thinkers can apply the tools and techniques needed to help solve ambiguous or complex challenges while coping with a high degree of uncertainty ," writes Richard Perez, founding director of the d-school Afrika on @mailandguardian: bit.ly/3MWWMKc.

It's great being on the team with Lisa! Students rave about working with her because she so clearly puts them first and is committed to helping make their educational dreams come true! I was so lucky to "inherit" Lisa and her amazing colleagues when I came aboard @indianastate.
If you’re a student in some of Indiana State Online’s most popular majors, you may already know Lisa Stein. Lisa recruits and advises prospective and enrolled students. As an ISU alum and employee, Lisa is a great resource! Contact her at 812.237.2267 or lisa.stein@indstate.edu.

Very basic #leadership tip: In almost every situation/#decision, if you're going to make a mistake, err on the side of being TOO supportive/understanding/flexible with the #people in and around your #organization. #leaders

I learned after a few #jobs that people think what's said in an #interview is just "talk to #gethired". I started explicitly saying: "To be clear, I am going to try to do everything I said; if you don't want that, don't hire me." It's amazing how many folks STILL seem surprised.

Great #CustomerService from Holland & Sherry: immediate 1) response to initial inquiry, 2) sending of swatches, and 3) sorting out a slight issue by sending additional swatches. They've earned my #money in a crowded field. New suit in @holland_sherry cloth coming in a few months!
It's great to be a part of the amazing Extended Learning team working with faculty to create a new #online #MBA built on the existing success of the on-campus MBA. I haven't been @indianastate long; I'm planning on this being the first of many great new options @IndStateOnline!
The Scott MBA Online is a great option for busy professionals who want to move forward in their careers with a flexible, respected, AACSB-accredited Master of Business Administration degree program. There is still time to enroll for fall! #ScottCollegeMBA #IndStateOnline

Looking to start doing more videos again soon (international moves have a way of knocking things off track). I've got lots of ideas, but are there any requests/questions/ideas you have in the fields of #leadership, #business, #education, #organization, #HR, or similar?
I have, at best, a remedial understanding of the history of the Israel-Palestine situation. Can anyone suggest #books, and/or some other reading list, that would help me #educate myself on the historical/religious/economic/any other issues?
I remain amazed how many organizations equate "#innovation" with "#technology". Every time I read a #job #advertisement for a Chief Innovation Officer that reads 100% as a technology #leadership job, I wonder how the #company has stayed in #business and how much longer it has.

Positions of #leadership aren't always filled with #leaders; they still remain positions of #power. It should be a fire-able offense for #people in such positions to respond "We could never..." or "It's impossible to..." when asked "Can we be better at...?" #DeathOfAnOrganization
I was lucky to spend the last 6 years @UCTGSB @UCT_news. Watching the fire situation there is devastating. Desperately hoping everyone is as safe as can be and firefighters are able to save as many buildings, books, and art as possible.

And this is why we're making tweaks to @indianastate's existing #online Virtual Instruction Certificate: #leaders/#leadership of #companies need to ensure their employees can still get high quality #learning from their #HR/#LearningAndDevelopment teams in a #WFH reality.

Just one of the reasons we're making the @indianastate Virtual Instruction Certificate into a more flexible format. Tons of #teachers and other #education/#learning professionals will need to upskill themselves to make sure #online #teaching is the highest quality possible.
Families that have come to prefer remote online learning are pushing to make it permanent — and school districts are rushing to accommodate them. nyti.ms/2PVb8Cl
Do I have this right? Clear evidence of mass shootings killing humans: no change in gun legislation. Failure to find any evidence of mass voter fraud that withstands scrutiny in a court of law (despite looking intently): dozens of proposed laws to make voting more difficult.

I have never liked going to the doctor, particularly when it involves shots. I was just able to schedule my first COVID jab for next week, and I'm elated.

I'm using this Hemingway dialogue for an internal report setting the context for #change in #highereducation; I thought it insightful for current discussions around the futures of #democracy and #political parties: “How did you go bankrupt?" "Two ways. Gradually, then suddenly.”
