One of the most ableist things people do is assume every limitation is negotiable. When someone with a disability or chronic illness says they can’t do something, they’re not asking for permission. They’re informing you.

my most woke mutuals will be arguing genuinely great things but cant keep the word retarded out of their mouth to save their life. like ableism is simply not cared about anywhere at all. noone gives a fuck. i hate everyone.
Maybe I’m too woke but I miss 5 years ago when saying the word “retarded” was genuinely nasty and made people look at you like a monster

TV Teddy and I were scared to death, but we couldn’t look away!

Released in 1975, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi was an animated television special directed by legendary animator Chuck Jones and based on the classic story by Rudyard Kipling. The story follows a brave mongoose who takes on two deadly cobras to protect the family that rescued him. For a generation of kids, it was one of those rare animated films that felt genuinely intense. The stakes were real, the villains were terrifying, and you couldn't help but root for Rikki-Tikki every step of the way. More than 50 years later, it's still remembered as one of the finest animated adaptations ever put on television. Did you watch Rikki-Tikki-Tavi growing up?

Very cathartic for anyone who has ever been under the power of an awful teacher. That’s the context of the joke.

Again, you can be pro-abortion without being an ableist piece of shit. Starting to think this really isn’t about abortion rights for a lot of you, but about having an excuse to harm all disabled people with your bigoted rhetoric
I don’t understand the kind of selfishness that would lead a parent to bring a disabled child into the world when there was an option to terminate the pregnancy at an early stage.

Yeah, people will spew a load if ableist BS then bring up abortion and suddenly we're pro-life if we criticise their ableism.

"No one is targeting disabled people." Yes, they are. Any tightening of benefits will disproportionately harm the most vulnerable. It's on purpose.

The honest truth is that way too many of you are hiding your violent ableism behind being pro-choice.

I'm tired of people saying aborting a disabled fetus is a kindness. If you want an abortion, have an abortion. You don't need any further justification because it's your body. Calling it a kindness devalues disabled people's quality of life and threatens their autonomy.

'I'm normal.' This isn't about abortion, it's about ableism. They're using abortion as a shield to get away with the most disgusting takes.

Reminder if you have Down’s syndrome you aren’t required to be sweet, kind, smiling, wholesome, and gentle to be a valuable human being worthy of existing. You’re allowed to be an asshole like everyone else. The price for your life isn’t being a constant ray of sunshine. I love all the stories of these wonderful humans living well and blessing others while having Down’s syndrome. I just want to remind folks that being easy to deal with isn’t required to be worthy of your own life. It’s not like *oh that one is fine they’re so cute*. You could be a total butthole and honestly same you’re just like everyone else. You get to be unpleasant. No one is always a quaint delight. Be a prick and you still get to *live*.
