Last month the 2026 comprehensive @SCC_CCS @CHRS_SCR Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device guidelines were released. While developed from the perspective of Canadian physicians, the information contained within the comprehensive guideline, and accompanying CJC White Paper, is intended to be used by practising clinicians across all disciplines who care for patients with CIEDs. Key areas of focus include bradycardia, syncope, cardiac resynchronisation therapy and conduction system pacing, sudden death prevention and defibrillator therapy, the role of leadless devices, perioperative considerations and complications, lead extraction, post-implant CIED management, competency and training standards, as well as wait time guidance and a quality evaluation framework. This work would not have been possible without the dedication of my co-chair Dr Jacqueline Joza (@Dr_JozaEP), as well as the 26 members of the primary panel, who collectively volunteered thousands of hours of work over the past 3 years. Parahisian high-risk WPW w/intermittent conduction during RFA. Preexcitation restored by 1-beat by V burst pacing. Learning point: Successful RFA (#6) guided by Kent automaticity—highly specific but low sensitivity marker. See more challenging cases at #LAHRS2025 Congress.

Rare RA septal flutter on a patient with prior mitral valve surgery as well as PFA PVI, SVC isolation, intercaval line for lateral wall atriotomy scar flutter, and RF CTI line. Where would you burn? Or would you go transseptal to map LA? @narrowQRS @Maeskander @jeffrey_vinocur

We can't always map during VT due to hemodynamic instability or non-inducibility, but when we can, the results can be truly amazing with a good chance of the full circuit being revealed! 🪄 Case performed by @Maeskander #EPeeps

Surprise spontaneous ORT using a concealed left lateral pathway on a younger patient (early 40s) scheduled for PFA AF ablation (history of persistent AF). Should we still proceed with the PVI? #EPeeps

Can your smartwatch predict cardiac arrhythmias? 🫀📱 Apple Watch can mimic a 9-lead ECG with strategic placement. But low precordial voltages limit accuracy leading to inaccuracies. Can CSV files and AI bridge the gap? #JECG #DigitalHealth #AIinMedicine sciencedirect.com/science/ar…
