Research from the Ethics and Public Policy Center (EPPC) revealed that 1 in 10 women experience a serious adverse event after using the abortion pill mifepristone—22 times the rate the FDA currently acknowledges. We are pleased the FDA has taken our work seriously and decided to conduct a review of the safety of this drug. If its review is rigorous and thorough, we are confident the FDA will find results similar to our own.

Great to join a GMU Scalia Law panel this week to discuss Chevron v. Plaquemines Parish, including the key takeaways from Justice Thomas's majority opinion. As I explain, to remove a case to federal court under the Federal Officer Removal Statute, three elements must be met: — You must be acting under a federal officer — The suit must be for, or relate to, an act under color of federal law — You must be able to assert a colorable federal defense However, Plaquemines only really addressed the second element. So while these cases should all be removed to federal court, there will likely be more litigation moving forward to get there.

Excellent piece by Distinguished Senior Fellow of the @EPPCdc Ethics and Public Policy Center George Weigel on the plight of Jimmy Lai and the two Chinese factions arguing over his freedom. 'What can his fellow Catholics do for Jimmy Lai at the moment? We can hold him in prayer every day. We can urge the Administration to continue to press for Jimmy’s release, and we can urge our representatives and senators to press the Administration to keep pressing the Chinese regime. We can urge the bishop of Hong Kong, Cardinal Stephen Chow, SJ, who has been notably AWOL throughout the Jimmy Lai drama, to remember that Catholicism’s premier political prisoner is his diocesan congregant, and that this white martyr deserves every pastoral support the Church in Hong Kong can offer as he faces the possibility of red martyrdom." @SupportJimmyLai The strength of Jimmy Lai and the weakness of Emperor Xi - catholicworldreport.com/2026…

Dusted off my rapid-response muscles to help the folks at the @realDailyWire think through the new study on smartphones fertility. Is it the final word? No. Does it provide empirical evidence the introduction of digital tech has changed family and community life? Absolutely.

The blue state vacancies present more of a problem. With Demand Justice going after Fetterman, other Ds won’t return blue slips. Which takes them from a valuable veto of unacceptable picks to an unreasonable willingness to fill any seats under an R. What to do? 1/4

People with Down Syndrome are human beings. They are, as such, bearers of profound, inherent, and equal dignity and the right to life. To target them for extermination on the basis of their condition is as wicked as targeting people on account of their race, sex, or ethnicity.

The two recent polls showing Platner up by just 4–5 points are tighter than earlier surveys. This suggests he is slipping as more scandals emerge. One can expect that decline to continue if additional information surfaces about his past or current beliefs and behavior. 1/x
