Bulldozers could soon tear through this area of natural beauty to make way for the Norwich Western Link road. We need more of this biodiversity, not less.

At the very least Rachel Reeves’ spending review should mean that the Norwich Western Link won’t receive any further funding commitments and still might get axed in its entirety. Be heard! Make sure you get your objections into the planning consultation! norfolkwt.uk/NWL-Action

Larry, asking the right questions!

UK voters were asked whether they wanted to change our parliamentary election system in a 2011 referendum and overwhelmingly opted to stick with first-past-the-post; are you suggesting we should ask again in case they've changed their minds?

Crucial journalism by the BBC here. But thanks to a protracted dehumanisation campaign, 'migrant' is now a term that describes a non-person. Hence this story won't generate the empathy or fury it should. In fact, a cow being hit by a police car will generate more concern.

The hounding of Arundhati Roy is absolutely unconscionable. She is a great writer and has a right to her opinion. There needs to be an international outcry about the case that has been brought against her for something she said a decade ago.
Sharing this piece I wrote in October. I really, really hope the international backlash to such a hounding of someone so cherished and celebrated like Arundhati Roy makes the Modi regime walk back. theguardian.com/commentisfre…

The double special issue of @AFSJournal, Creating Feminist Futures: Methodologies for New Times edited by @katjungnickel and me, is really coming together! At this moment of multiple crises, it asks how feminist methodologies can make ethically and politically just futures 🧵 1/?

The right for a child (or adult) to use the toilet in dignity is a hill I’ll die on. If monitoring natural human behaviour is about time-saving, surveillance, or the monitoring of a perceived-to-be ‘unruly’ teenage body, there is something ethically wrong.

Watching again as I cradle my son to sleep. The only difference between me, you, or any of us and him is geography.

Who deserves care? Who is deemed worthy of having a family to care for and be cared by? This is giving colonial vibes. Disgusting.
Today in Parliament we have laid an order to ban overseas care workers from bringing dependants. This is just one part of our plan to deliver the biggest-ever cut in migration 👇
