🌍 As the world faces an intensifying climate crisis and the urgent need for energy security, the 34th European Biomass Conference and Exhibition (
#EUBCE2026) will gather over 1,200 global international experts in The Hague from 19-22 May 2026. This year’s event marks a pivotal shift from scientific promise to industrial implementation, showcasing
#bioenergy and
#biomass solutions essential for Europe’s strategic autonomy.
Event Highlights:
🎤 The Opening Session: A high-level opening programme, featuring presentations from representatives of the European Commission, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy of The Netherlands, Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU), Avantium, International Energy Agency (IEA), RWE, Neste Renewable Products, eFuel Alliance, as well as Mission Innovation Integrated Biorefineries and other important stakeholders, to explore how research and innovation are driving industrial transformation and supporting Europe’s transition towards a sustainable, secure, and competitive energy future.
🤝 High-Level Round Table on Sustainable Aviation Fuels: Organized on 18 May 2026 in the framework of EUBCE 2026, this roundtable will bring together a selected group of global leaders from government, industry and innovation for a closed-door exchange on the future of
#SAF.
📖 Scientific Excellence: Coordinated by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre, EUBCE 2026 scientific programme, represented by over 600 presentations, will cover essential research in Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF),
#pyrolysis, bio-based value chains and refinery integration,
#biochar, biomass-to-bioenergy conversion, algae-based solutions, as well as
#sustainableagriculture.
🏭 The Industrial Track: Supported by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU), EUBCE 2026 industry sessions will be focused on key developments in integrated industrial process chains, preferred strategies and policies for the industrialisation of renewable energy production, industrial energy and heating processes/systems, biomass deployment in energy systems as well as biorefining.
🌏 International Exhibition: With over 50 international exhibitors, ranging from industry and energy utilities to innovative startups and specialized research labs, EUBCE exhibition includes a dedicated Exhibition Forum—a dynamic stage for live technology demonstrations and stakeholder debates, and a EU Projects Area – dedicated to EU funded projects.
