Culture matters.
After Japan battled the Netherlands to a 2-2 draw, the Japanese fans stayed behind and cleaned up every single piece of trash from their section at Dallas Stadium after the game.

This is a devastating indictment of the quintessential model of Blue State governance: CA. The mistake that Dem Party reformers like @RahmEmanuel make is thinking that the party's problems are only cultural issues. Wrong. These issues are also glaring.
💥NEW: CNN’s Fareed Zakaria *DELIVERS BRUTAL TAKEDOWN* of California’s “FAILING MODEL OF GOVERNANCE”💥 “The frustration is real and JUSTIFIED… it is a case study in how a rich society can spend more and more — while producing less and less of what its ordinary citizens need.”

Truth be told, this is the first truly witty thing this idiot has ever said.

Replying to @AskLyft
@AskLyft A suggestion for you guys: I was recently in Lima using your competitor. We called for a car, which was severely delayed in arriving and then more delayed in departing because of a severe but very local traffic problem. We realized that, if we had walked about 5 min

@AskLyft and gotten a car there, we could have saved ourselves and the Uber driver a lot of time (and money). How about building a function in your app that, when it sees this problem (which is visible on GPS), suggests an optional brief walk and an alternative pick-up spot?

Listened to an interview of Sapolsky with @StevenDLevitt. At the end, Levitt says that Sapolsky seems very upbeat. Sapolsky responds that his "basic wiring" is pessimism but he is "capable of intermittent bursts of presentability." So, "basic wiring" can be overcome. Huh.

Robert Sapolsky is a great scientist and writer, but I agree w the author here that his arguments against free will are unconvincing. Granted, human choice does not arise from a miracle in the brain, but ... quillette.com/2023/11/06/rob…

This is your periodic reminder that #TSLAQ has never been wrong -- just too early. This is the @ARKInvest version of that truism.

A thought: will the Iranian negotiations be the same poisoned chalice for Vance that "border czar" was for Kamala Harris?

If you want to know what a man looks like when he is questioning his life choices, take a look at Marco Rubio's face during this rambling, incoherent babbling from our Moron-In-Chief. We are doomed.
Historic leadership happening here

The inadvertent self-revelation is always so interesting. "The lady doth protest too much, methinks."
Trump: I don't want a stupid person being president, you know, I'll say it right now. I'm the only president that ever took a cognitive test. I took it 3 times. It's actually a very hard test for a lot of people. It wasn't hard for me

Trump demonstrates once again that nobody knows self-awareness the way he does. Nobody.
Trump on Joe Kent: I am not a fan of the guy...His wife was killed; he remarried fairly quickly.

Some good advice to the anti-Trump crowd: resist the desire for "struggle sessions" from reforming Trumpkins and just support them as they try to make Trump 2.0 a little less bad. astralcodexten.com/p/support…

The semifinals in Indian Wells, one of the biggest tennis tournaments. Notice a pattern? Something like this happens far too often to be random. There is definitely something going on with Slavic women and tennis. (The effect with men is also there, but not as pronounced.)

In Trump's mind, this gets translated to him actually risking his life to save America.
The irony of a five-time draft dodger posting military academy pictures while Americans are dying in a war he started.

I repeat: Donald Trump is really just a Democrat (latest evidence: his support for "people live in houses, not corporations") who hates immigrants and loves to blow shit up.
Trump on Iran: “Watch what happens to these deranged scumbags today…I, as the 47th President of the United States of America, am killing them. What a great honor it is to do so!”
