Haven't been tweeting as much as I should and/or attending live PD events since 2019. Have so many things up in the air right now but I'm committed to interacting about technology and education, and here's where I want to get my thoughts out there. @PS11Tech#EdTech
I'm at the #NYCSchoolsTechSummit and the Learning with Apple session and the presenter just showed a picture of kids learning Logo Coding on Apple II computers, saying I first learned on these. I wasn't his teacher but I could have been. 1st taught Tech in Berkeley CA in 1980s.
I'm at the DIIT / DoE #NYCSchoolsTechSummit now. I haven't missed a Tech Summit yet! How many years has it been? Thanks Lisa @InnovativeEdu & so many others (@FarrellJoJo@TaliCSM@JPatanio just 2 name a few) 4 this amazing creation. Thought the opening keynote was fab!
Thank you @GholdyM for these beautiful reminders: "What I see shimmering in front of us is genius... the genius within our students. They are creative, intellectual, they see things that we cannot. They can create something out of nothing. The way they use language? Genius." ✨
"By sharing your learning with each other, building this community of #CS educators, enlisting your school teams... you can dismantle historical inequities in this field for our students." - Chancellor Meisha Ross Porter inspired and energized our #CSforAllNYC community today! ❤️
On day one of #ScratchWeek, let your imagination run wild and make the Rube Goldberg machine you've always dreamed of in the Ridiculous Inventions studio! 🧑🔬🤔🧪 scratch.mit.edu/studios/2971…
