I have miles cycled for London from DFT data - they increased 138% to 0.76bn in London since 2004. John is right the 2025 KSI rate has increased since 2024, but it’s lower than 2004 (-16%), 2022 (-7%), 2019 (-5%) and 2012 (-41%).

How many more journeys were there due to the cycle lane? We can't tell how the accident rate changed without that information.

Here is a driver crossing C9 while huffing a balloon. If your concern is cyclist safety, what difference would you expect cycle infrastructure to make to risk posed by such a driver at a junction?

Lifetime driving bans for drivers who kill. I’ve tabled this amendment to the Sentencing Bill, to be debated on Tuesday, that would mean those who cause death by careless or dangerous driving would receive lifetime driving bans; a penalty that isn’t currently the case. To be selected for a vote it needs the support of MPs. Please email your MP asking them to contact the Public Bill Office to put their name to my amendment by the rise of the House on Monday, and let’s get killer drivers off our roads permanently.

Breaking the Link is happening, in Spain. 75% reduction in times when gas sets the price resulting in power prices 30% lower than the EU average. While Britain has prices more like 30% higher than the EU average. The Link is the cause. What are we waiting for, Ed, Keir, Rachel....? ember-energy.org/latest-insi…

No cycle lane, not even an advanced stop line. The comments blame the cyclists for filtering via the left turn lane vs waiting behind the HGV in the right hand lane for straight ahead, but this road layout is largely to blame for bringing cyclists & HGVs into conflict.

So John has set out the 'health disbenefits' of LTNs that he thinks haven't been accounted for in studies that show that Low Traffic Neighbourhoods have significant health benefits - in terms of increased activity, reduced deaths and injuries from collisions and air quality.

@martynschmoll John can’t answer that, so you’ll get a block now! The UK gov review of LTNs did highlight a mental health disbenefit as a result of people believing John et al that LTNs made them prisoners in their own home…. but presumably that reduces over time as obv untrue.
Neil posted a calculation that quantifies the benefits of LTNs and you argued that the calculation didn’t include the disbenefits. So I’m asking you to set the record straight. What is the cost of the disbenefits? I don’t have those numbers. Where’s it all net out?

Not just obvious evasion & projection… John is preparing the ground for a block on the basis that you’re not making any effort to engage with him, you’re too stupid / lazy to understand his arguments and are thus wasting his time. Classic John :-)

We know that @SocEnvJustice sets out to game local consultations. As do all the local car lobby groups like OneChiswick. This was central to the tactics of the One groups during Covid. Their gnashing of teeth is their disappointment that their dirty tactics failed.
We know that, for example, cab driver groups set out to game the Islington consultations, saying, "There's 20,000 of us. Most consultations attract about 1,800 replies... Takes 3 mins‼️"

At best Lucy is a self confessed racist who didn’t care about people being burnt alive. At worst, she incited others to burn people alive, which is the crime she confessed to - and she’s still a racist. At least she didn’t have the bravery to murder these people herself!
Lucy Connolly is one very brave woman.

John Stewart, @SocEnvJustice & pro-car lobby friends say LTN consultations aren’t polls, are gamed & shouldn’t be trusted. Then they cite those same consultations (now “polls”) as proof of opposition, after helping to game them. 🤷‍♂️

John’s “heart sinks” with evidence that LTNs have prevented the deaths or serious injury of 100 people. However, this rather undermines the implicit claim that @JohnJohnStewart still has access to a working heart.
