🎓Graduation season should be a time of celebration as our students step into a future filled with opportunity. For many, however, doors to future opportunities close before even finishing high school. This is not a matter of students' capabilities, but of a system that wasn't designed to effectively teach all kids. EdVoice is reshaping public education in California so that ALL students have futures filled with opportunity. California families are eager for more educational opportunities. The new State of Educational Opportunity in California survey found that: -Support charter schools is rising (72% favor charter schools) -Parents are skeptical that more money is the answer to better schools (Only 26% think more money needs to be spent per pupil) -Tutoring and the demand for tutoring is booming California, as the state ranks 5th in both the number of students receiving tutoring AND the number of parents that want tutoring for their kids but don't yet have it.

EdVoice strongly supports @CAgovernor proposal to strengthen California's education governance.
👩‍🎓 👨‍🎓 Failing to properly support our kids’ education affects all of us, no matter what business, industry, or community you’re in.👇 Through The Children's Movement of California, more than 950 organizations have signed on in support of education governance reform, which is critical to improving our students' ability to succeed. We invite you to read our latest op-ed in @EdSource from Children Now President @TedLempert on how thanks to this overwhelming support and the Governor’s leadership, we finally have a chance to reform our education governance system to work better for our kids. 👉 bit.ly/3RoExUY #CALeg #ChildrensMovementCA #ProKidCA

“As the Legislature and Governor finalize California’s 2026-27 state budget, we face a consequential decision: whether to sustain one of our most effective tools for strengthening the teacher workforce, or allow it to wither just as it is delivering meaningful results.” - @AsmCoreyJackson in @Capitol_Weekly Please listen to your colleague, @alvarezsd @senatorsrp @SenJohnLaird @AsmJesseGabriel: capitolweekly.net/21273-2/ #CaliforniaTeachersMatter #TeacherShortage #CABudget FYI: @DanCALmatters @jennahpendleton

1 in 7 = roughly 750,000 students being taught by unqualified teachers, disproportionately in high-priority schools. The Golden State Teacher Grant Program has provided financial support to more than 22,000 teacher candidates earning their credentials in exchange for service in a high-priority school. This program needs $100M to maintain its level of impact. Please prioritize access to qualified educators in this budget process, @CAgovernor @alvarezsd @senatorsrp @SenJohnLaird @AsmJesseGabriel FYI: @mackenzie_mays @akoseff @carolynjones @zstavely #CaliforniaTeachersMatter #TeacherShortage #CABudget
