🔊 It was an impactful moment for us as Annette Brüls, our Corporate Vice President EMEA, Canada, and Latin America, addressed EU and national policymakers and decision-makers as a speaker during the closing plenary session of #StateOfEU organized by @FriendsofEurope , the leading EU think tank. She was part of a panel that included Charles Wyplosz (Economist, and Emeritus Professor at Geneva Graduate School), Leena Yla-Mononen (Executive Director, European Environment Agency), and Mario Monti (Italian Senator, former Prime Minister and EU commissioner). Her message was clear: Aligning capital with ambitions is essential to support innovation in Europe and meet the needs of the people in the union. Stressing the need for Europe to become the 'hub' for innovation, Annette Brüls - @EdwardsEurope urges Europe to speed up access to innovation. “I think we need to radically accelerate access to #innovation. Today in Europe, it takes 3 years or more before breakthrough innovations reach patients who desperately need it, while these #treatments are already accessible in the US, Canada, Japan and Australia. So we need to be more straightforward and pilot and test new approaches.”
