Our exciting new work shows that S. flexneri redecorates its cell surface when transitioning to an intracellular lifestyle. The pathogen has an appetite for host lipids to supplement its energy needs, thereby depleting host lipid droplets. journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128…

Yesterday marked the end of an era! Last day in the @EijkelkampLab 🥲
Over the past 4 years, I finished my PhD, survived a pandemic, had a baby, published 10 papers & had so much fun along the way!
