Last night my colleagues Delegate Amprey @marlonamprey Delegate Wells @ElectWells Delegate Frank Conway and I awarded 141 students $165,000 in scholarships. In addition to the MD Higher Education Funding we awarded an additional $40,000 in scholarships in the name of Victorine Q Adams at Baltimore Center Stage @centerstage_md We were supported last night by Councilwoman @PhyliciaPorter_ Councilman @docbullock @JamesTorrenceJD @MayorBMScott @RepKweisiMfume

I'm saddened to see Maryland return to crushing deficits. In eight years, we turned a record deficit into a record surplus. Maryland can do it again, but we need to return to the playbook of common sense fiscal responsibility - not more spending and taxes.
