Fae Tactics has a dense start (it has a lot of mechanics to tutorialize), but dang! Really great SRPG that gets rolling right after that.
Very much a Final Fantasy Tactics successor. Has a proper plot too, and even has splits where you can go off and choose what to do next!

It's amazing how many of my all time favorite games have been released from indie studios in the past couple years, beating out triple A classics from the 90s and aughts. Its a bit idiosyncratic at first, but this title puts to shame everything it might remind you of

I think its appeal is somewhat narrow (dense and challenging SRPG) but Fae Tactics was one of my favorite games of last year. Somewhat importantly, it is *not* a Final Fantasy Tactics clone nor a Fire Emblem clone, but a genuinely unique take on the genre. It's cool.

Fae Tactics is an Isometric SRPG, so you know we had to plan very distinctly different locations to battle on! It was a dream come true to get to do this kind of work for a real game and not just for fun.

One of the best SRPGs I've played in a while. A large collection of spells and summons hidden party members to unlock. Does some really awesome things mechanically and the story got better and better! A must-play for fans of the genre!
