Over 1,000 @Airbnb hosts registered for the London Host Club Meetup last night. London has 80,000 listings. One of the largest short-term rental markets in the world. The room was full of the people actually running them! The industry likes to call individual hosts unprofessional. That's not what I saw. Time-constrained? Yes. Tech-constrained? Yes. But creative, and laser-focused on guest experience. Private chefs (shoutout to @YhangryChef). Gap nights. Early check-ins. Birthday packages. Gift Baskets... all of these resonated with them clearly. They understand something a lot of bigger operators are still catching up to: better guest experience isn't just better reviews. At the start of 2025, we set out to build the AI team member for hospitality operators. The idea was simple: If you use Enso, you’ve effectively hired an automation teammate. So we built EnsoAI AutoPilot V2 — an AI that could message guests, follow policies, and handle conversations like your team would. Sounds simple, right? It wasn’t. Here’s what actually happened 👇 When we gave the AI too much freedom, it worked like Anchorman’s quote: “60% of the time, it works every time.” When we tightened the guardrails, it worked 100% of the time… but only for 10–15% of messages. And when mistakes happened, hospitality pros shut it off instantly - to protect their brand. That’s when we realized the real problem wasn’t the model. It wasn’t even the rules. It was the training data — the invisible knowledge that makes humans “get it.” So we made the training part of the workflow. No friction. If we detect a conflict, we surface it. If we find missing context, we suggest it. You just approve — and it learns.
