New @NRDC analysis from @NrdcTomr and @claireranglee of the latest @pjminterconnect capacity market auction: if 30% of the queue (~7 GW, almost all clean) had been operational instead of stuck in the queue, clearing prices would have been 63% (!) lower 😮nrdc.org/bio/claire-lang-ree…

What's it mean to get a major solar factory in your backyard? For Dalton, GA, it means that young people can stay in town and start a high-tech career, instead of having to move away after high school. That's great for families, and a bustling downtown canarymedia.com/articles/sol…

This is one of the biggest red flags in our path to decarbonize America: the poor performance of the US wind sector. We need wind to pick up the slack...
It's been a rough few years for wind energy in the U.S. In 2020 and 2021, the U.S. added ~14.5 GW of new capacity. In 2023, the country added 6.5 GW (down 50% ). Considering how important it is that we build a 100% carbon-free grid, this is a huge problem. 🧵

1. According to many billionaires, political pundits, and media figures, US universities are now vehicles for "woke" indoctrination These institutions, they argue, are focused on teaching students about systemic racism, trans rights, and other "woke" topics There is never any evidence to support these claims It's all anecdotes and vibes. So, let's look at the DATA 🧵

Can we...just accept that we suck at this? I want to tell you a story that has made me kinda hopeless about Twitter's ability to affect positive things happening, and it starts with this tweet from Hillary Clinton. x.com/HillaryClinton/status/…

Great news from the White House today on top of the EPA final rule on power plants. The administration is launching an effort to expand the capacity of the existing U.S. transmission network: an ambition to upgrade 100,000 miles of transmission over the next five years.
