Gutted to have missed the fantastic content of this event that I had been so looking forward to. Was supposed to be there in person but flooding caused by Storm Bert had other ideas for my travel plans! However, I am so grateful to have still been able to contribute via Teams
Fabulous day at the @BPSOfficial Peer support in Eating Disorders conference today. Great to be in person & to hear all the work going on across the UK. Also wonderful hear about @jessthegriff work on peer support and resources that will soon be available on the FREED website.

I am presenting as a patient rep at the @rcpsychEDFac Special Interest Day on Thursday. The topic is transitions in care. I will be talking about my personal experiences but I would be keen to include quotes from others. Please DM me if you would be happy to share #eatingdisorder

youtu.be/Vnw1LEWh0dQ?si=0bel… Hii I wrote a piece about my #EatingDisorder recovery journey/why recovery is so worthwhile, and I read it on camera 🎥 always a bit nerve wracking doing things like this, but so proud of my work every single day 😊 #LivedExperience #PeerSupport

I have been very bad at using this recently because I’ve been so busy with work! In a good way! My adhd has been being a bit overly optimistic about how much time there is in each day though, but it is holiday time soon so I will be able to relax properly! 😅

Can we stop the culture of expecting people to speak about lived experience for free? Was approached on LinkedIn at 11pm with a keynote request. A polite “Is this a paid opp” was met with “If this is a deciding factor then…”. Would you ask a builder, teacher, hairdresser 🧵

I am finishing peer support sessions with one of our service users who is about to complete treatment, she just sent me a lovely text to say it’s sad it will be our last one but she’s happy with the time we’ve had and how much positive impact I’ve had on her - I feel so proud🥹💗

Happy Wednesday everyone, here is a video of Woody being very happy to see me after work yesterday - so happy that he jumped up onto my shoulders and stayed there for about 5 minutes 😆💗 the weight of a 13yr old boy cat on your neck is quite hard to support, but I love him

Things you don’t need to have experienced for your eating disorder to be valid: • hospital admissions • intensive treatment • therapy • a diagnosis • being sectioned • being underweight • avoiding certain food groups • recognition from other people • body dysmorphia

So glad I went to the #DumpTheScales march with my friend, it gave her a much needed boost of motivation to keep going with her recovery too which was so lovely to hear 🥹🩷

I swear #emetophobia is one of THE most debilitating phobias, no matter how hard I try to remind myself it’s totally irrational, I still go into full on panic mode when it gets triggered 😭 It has such a huge negative impact on my life and everything I do, it’s exhausting.

#DumpTheScales - such a moving, emotional, & beautiful day. We cried, we laughed, we marched 🩷 thanks to @HopeVirgo for bringing so many incredible, brave humans together for such an important cause. Our voices are loud as one & we will shout until we are heard! ✊🏻✨
