ALT strategy: write a tiny program
Does your bug involve a library you don't understand?
illustration:
person (thought bubble): UGH, `requests` is NOT working how I expected it to!
I like to convert my code using that library into a tiny standalone program
which has the same bug:
illustration:
giant buggy program (squiggly mess) -> 20 lines of buggy code (simple)
I find this makes it WAY EASIER to experiment and ask for help.
V. proud to be at @RoyalVetCollege graduation - esp to celebrate our magnificent students @inesneves_ PhD, Anna Borlase (McKeever PhD prize) & Eleanor Raj (MSc One Health 1st prize - making it third year in a row for one of our group’s students winning this).
Had a great day and a half at @SurreyVet Research Symposium. I got the opportunity to present a 5 minute lightning talk on my research (which was one of the winners of that category 🥳)! My first oral presentation on my research and it felt great! #phdstudent#research
