To slow and adapt to climate change, we need smart solutions. A new ‘green living paint’, developed by @UniOfSurrey, could be one of them. The biocoating could help green energy production, water treatment, and space exploration.

The water-intensive use of growth media calls for alternatives. Extremophilic cyanobacteria in biocoatings are able to capture carbon and produce oxygen and could be shipped dry and only rehydrated when necessary. @UniOfSurrey @KeddieLab @KringsSimone journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128…
