A telling comment. PA politics is still a leader in the Race to the Bottom.
What would it take for our legislators to change this? Courage to buck the big funders? Boldness to vote one's conscience instead of just following the leader? Belief in the duty to represent voters?
Speaker Joanna McClinton (D., Philly) introduced a former state rep who served alongside K. Leroy Irvis 40 years ago. McClinton says she asked if things are any different. The response? "It's the same, just the players have changed."
