We are very happy to share our latest publication out in @ImmunityCP! Here we investigated how somatic hypermutation impacts SARS-CoV-2 neutralizing antibodies (authors.elsevier.com/a/1iAVY…).
Thanks a lot to our dear 🇮🇱 friends and collaborators @DiskinLab
Highlights include:
A fraction of mutated antibodies neutralizes Wu01 independently of the acquired mutations.
Germline VH1-58 mAbs neutralize Alpha, Beta, and Delta but require mutations for BA.1/BA.2.
Previously acquired bystander mutations can increase B cell diversity against variants.
Transferring a single bystander mutation restores the neutralizing activity of tixagevimab against BA.1/BA.2.
Congratulations Timm, Sabrina, and Svea to shed light on how #SARS-CoV-2 vaccination and breakthrough infections shape our antibody response. Now @SciImmunology. Thanks to all study participants and co-authors!

Congratulations Christoph, Cosimo and Seda! Thank you very much Aleksandra Walczak, Thierry Mora, Andreas Beyer and all other co-authors for this great collaboration!
Happy to share the publication of our joined project between @FKlein_Lab and the Walczak/Mora Lab, where @wolphysics, Seda and myself investigated the probabilities of developing HIV-1 neutralizing antibody sequence features: disq.us/t/4k4i2j7

Check out how we applied our @FKlein_Lab antibody isolation workflows to target drug resistent bacteria in this fantastic cooperation with @SimonisLab, @JanRybniker and @DZIF_ colleagues…
We are happy to announce that our lab is the first on campus @UKKoeln to be awarded the highest level of certification (Green) by @My_Green_Lab!

Excited about #AntibodyBasedTherapies workshop of the @DZIF_ bridging topic hosted @UKKoeln. Amazing talks by representatives from academic research, clinic & industry all coming together to advance the development, production & clinical testing of monoclonal antibodies.
Exciting topics at the @Covim_Network meeting on SARS-CoV-2 immunity in Berlin. Thankful to all the speakers and participants of the Collaborative Immunity Platform of the #NUM!
