I want to wrap your head around that number. $38.3 BILLION to warehouse humans. While millions are losing healthcare. While billionaires party. This isn’t “fiscal conservative” it’s a mass terror operation.
Breaking news: ICE expects to spend $38.3 billion on its plan to acquire warehouses across the U.S. and retrofit them into immigrant detention centers that can hold tens of thousands of people, according to agency documents. wapo.st/4rdkbuF

My graduate-level ethics course at the Bush School of Government and Public Service was canceled because I would not agree to voluntarily censor discussion of how race, gender, and sexuality affect how public servants wield tremendous power over life-and-death decisions—and everything in between. To send future public servants into the world without grappling with those realities in an ethics course is truly frightening.

The truth: we need migration. The problem: too many politicians are terrified to say it. Why? They're led by a) toxicity of the charlatans & b) wealthy media organisations who demand these useful distractions rather than us talking about inequality. Reject it. Draw the line.

New paper out @JournalCMS! China is often seen as a source—not a host—of refugees. But during the Cold War, it took in nearly 500k from SE Asia. Why? We analyze 382 People’s Daily articles to show how China redefined “refugee” for shifting political goals. doi.org/10.1186/s40878-025-0…

We have entered the era of the "might makes right, with no exceptions". Dark times await us all, unless we, the global society, wake up and protect our rights. No one is free unless everyone is free.

Still in a state of shock how little attention this story has received.
A truly chilling story. Guardian reporting that the Israeli Defence minister has asked IDF to draw up plans to move 600,000 Palestinians to a camp on the ruins of Rafah, something he calls a “humanitarian city.” Once in, they wouldn’t be allowed to leave. theguardian.com/world/2025/j…

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has announced sanctions against the UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, Francesca Albanese. This is a shameless and transparent attack on the fundamental principles of international justice. Special Rapporteurs are not appointed to please governments or to be popular but to deliver their mandate. Read more 👇 amn.st/60174vhgl

I condemn US reprisals against my fellow UN Special Rapporteur @FranceskAlbs for her legitimate advocacy to hold Israel & others accountable for violations of international law in Palestine. I urge all UN member States to denounce this attack on the United Nations & human rights
Today I am imposing sanctions on UN Human Rights Council Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese for her illegitimate and shameful efforts to prompt @IntlCrimCourt action against U.S. and Israeli officials, companies, and executives. Albanese’s campaign of political and economic warfare against the United States and Israel will no longer be tolerated. We will always stand by our partners in their right to self-defense. The United States will continue to take whatever actions we deem necessary to respond to lawfare and protect our sovereignty and that of our allies.

Washington has paid 70% of Israel’s military costs since Oct 7, 2023. At same time Washington is cutting Pell Grants awarded to 7.4 million poor students during the 2025-26 school year, at a cost of $38.1 billion by 23% to just $5,710 a year. How much is going to Israel? $17.9 B in direct aid $4.86 B in Pentagon regional ops $20.3 B in deferred arms deals billions more in shipping losses, stockpile transfers, and corporate handouts Why not pay for education? American politicians have wrong priorities.
While Americans argue over rent hikes, groceries, and student loans, Israel has extracted $124 M per day from the U.S. Treasury for an entire year, much of it hidden behind opaque appropriations and congressional loopholes. According to Brown University’s Costs of War project, Washington has shouldered 70% of Israel’s military costs since Oct 7, 2023. That includes $17.9 B in direct aid, $4.86 B in Pentagon regional ops, $20.3 B in deferred arms deals, and billions more in shipping losses, stockpile transfers, and corporate handouts. 🧵

If the bill passes, it could make ICE the nation’s largest jailer, with more funding for detention than the entire federal Bureau of Prisons. It would give ICE enough money to have more officers on board than the entire FBI. This alone could transform American society forever.
WH on Big, Beautiful Bill: President Trump is committed to keeping his promises, and failure to pass this bill would be the ultimate betrayal.
