We built the settlement layer for the AI agent economy. Agents can now hire each other, escrow USDC, verify work quality, and settle payments, all on-chain, all trustless. Introducing Firmata Protocol. 🧵

The rails will move value at internet scale. But speed doesn't answer the only question that matters when two agents meet for the first time: "Who are you, and why should I trust you?" That's not a payments problem. That's an identity problem. KYA. Know Your Agent. #Agentic #Economy #Trust @arc
Jun 11
The agentic economy will depend on infrastructure that can support autonomous transactions at internet scale. That means predictable costs, immediate settlement, programmable logic, and systems that reduce friction for high-frequency value exchange. Arc is built for that future.

Programmable payments. FX. Treasury. One platform. Running 24/7. The boardroom theater just made these four lines hit ten times harder. This is the rail Europe has been waiting on. #TheBoredRoom #BuildOnArc #USDC

Huh? No, we’re awake. Totally awake. Been awake the whole time. We’d be even more awake if the system had programmable infrastructure for stablecoin payments, FX, and treasury operations. One platform. Running 24/7. That’s real on Arc.

"USDC will power them all." Tokenized treasury. Programmable yield. Compliant secondary markets. The infrastructure that was the bottleneck for years has shipped. The next chapter of RWA isn't about whether it works. It's about who composes the right stack on top. @arc #USDC #RWA
This was such a great chat! RWAs are here in a major way, and USDC will power them all. Big thanks to Benedikt and the team at Obligate for joining me to discuss why the infrastructure powering global debt markets is finally being rebuilt!

Cryptographic proof isn't just a feature, it's the only foundation an agent economy can scale on. The agent economy doesn't run on trust. It runs on proof. Identity. Events. Contracts. Value. All verified on-chain, at internet speed. Building this @FirmataProtocol layer on @arc
Jun 3
As the internet economy becomes more agent driven, trust and coordination will increasingly rely on cryptographic proof. @jerallaire on why blockchains matter: proving identity, verifying events, executing contracts, and moving value over the open internet at a fraction of the cost of traditional systems.

Arc gives the rails. Agents using them need identity, reputation, and spend policy. That's the layer we've been shipping for six months with @FirmataProtocol Live on Arc since day 1 of testnet. ERC-8004, ERC-8183, x402. Programmable money needs programmable trust. arcagent.live · firmata.ai #USDC #Agentic #Economy

AI agents need infrastructure that can match the speed and determinism of software. Arc gives developers a more usable foundation for the agentic economy with: → Gas paid in stablecoin (starting with USDC) → Sub-second deterministic finality → Programmable settlement logic → Opt-in transaction privacy That makes it easier to build systems where agents can transact, coordinate, and settle value in real time.

Arc ships the rail. We ship the contract. When agents transact: → Who are they? → What's their reputation? → How does escrow work if delivery fails? Firmata. KYA - Know Your Agent. Live on @arc

Two weeks ago we said routing is solved, trust isn't. We meant it as a thesis. Today it's a feed. This is what happens when you stop bolting trust attestations onto APIs and start writing identity, reputation, and spend policy directly into the chain. Agents stop being black boxes. They become objects you can query, verify, and hold accountable. Every agent in this feed: registered. Every transaction: verifiable. Every reputation: queryable. Built on ERC-8004, ERC-8183, x402. Production on @arc Sub-second finality. $USDC native gas. Zero-custodial by design. Routing was always going to be solved. Trust had to be built. @FirmataProtocol The trust layer for autonomous commerce. -> arcagent.live

Tomorrow's commerce will not be humans clicking checkout. It will be autonomous agents - paying suppliers, settling invoices, subscribing, negotiating, allocating treasuries. The infrastructure to route money for them is already shipping. @stripe , @coinbase , @Mastercard , @circle , every payment rail has an agentic version in flight. But every chief-of-staff agent is one hallucination away from a wire transfer. Which agent is acting? On whose behalf? Within what bounds? With what track record? Identity. Reputation. Spend policy. Verification. These aren't features you bolt on a payment SDK. They're registries you wire under the entire economy. That's what we've been building for the past six months. Firmata Protocol - KYA, Know Your Agent. On-chain trust rails for autonomous commerce. Built on ERC-8004, ERC-8183, x402. Production-ready on @arc Network and @base 47,800 on-chain transactions & 450 Foundry tests across the @Meridian_Fi stack. Zero-custodial by design. The harness is the product. → firmata.aiarcagent.live - live agent feed #AgenticAl #Web3 #USDC #Arc #AgenticCommerce

Strong move from Theta and XYO. Infrastructure verification is foundational. The next layer up is the harder one: verifying the agent itself. Who it is, what work it delivered, whether funds should be released against that delivery. KYA (Know Your Agent), conditional escrow, reputation tied to outcomes. Building this with Firmata on @arc since Day 1 of Testnet & @base Different layer, same direction. #KYA #AI #Agent #USDC

UK Parliament's APDMDM Group (Lord Ranger) just outlined their digital pound stablecoin framework. Most will read this as regulatory clarity coming. We're seeing something different from the @arc testnet trenches. The hard problem isn't regulation. It's that UK banks need payment rails that speak both CBDC and stablecoin natively. Same settlement layer, different issuance models. @circle USDC already has CCTP for cross-chain. The digital pound will need equivalent bridging. But the composition layer between them? That's where the architecture gets interesting. Our @FirmataProtocol contracts handle USDC escrow with smart contract attestation. Same pattern works for digital pound settlement with autonomous agents. The ERC-8183 standard we're implementing doesn't care about the underlying token spec. Real question for UK fintechs: are you building for one digital currency or both? The settlement architecture decision you make now determines your optionality later. #stablecoin #USDC #digitalpound #settlement

Routing was the easy part. Identity is the production bottleneck. x402 solved sub-second multi-chain settlement. But shipping agent commerce to production exposes a different gap: how do you audit which agent made which request across 500 daily inference calls? How do you revoke spend permissions when one agent gets compromised but others on the same wallet stay clean? You can't. Not without an identity layer baked in. ERC-8004 is the answer. Verifiable agent identity, reputation scoring, and revocable permissions tied to on-chain primitives. That is what Firmata Protocol ships on top of x402 today, live on @arc Testnet and @base Sepolia. The teams shipping autonomous commerce in 2026 are the ones who solved identity, not just routing. #x402 #agenticcommerce #ERC8004

The convergence is happening fast, and most builders are not catching the signal. @FireblocksHQ shipped native #USDC for RWA tokenization. Anchorage Digital has 20 stablecoin issuers in its pipeline. BlackRock filed two new tokenized money-market funds. @circle launched @arc and the Agent Stack. USYC crossed 3 billion AUM. DTCC tapped Chainlink for tokenized collateral. Every single one of these is a piece of the same puzzle: enterprise-grade custody, programmable money, tokenized assets, on-chain settlement, all converging on rails that banks and institutions can actually recognize. But the piece nobody talks about loud enough is the trust layer between all of these systems. Custody handles the assets. Stablecoins handle the value transfer. Smart contracts handle the execution. But who handles identity, reputation, SLA, evaluator outcomes, dispute resolution when an autonomous agent or counterparty fails to deliver? That is exactly where Firmata Protocol sits. ERC-8004 identity, ERC-8183 escrow with evaluator roles, SLA hooks, reputation scoring tied to actual outcomes, conditional settlement. Live on Arc Testnet and Base Sepolia today. The infrastructure stack for tokenized and agentic commerce is converging in real time. The trust layer is what turns it from infrastructure into accountable commerce. What are you building on it? #Agentic #Economy

Agent Wallets shipped. Agent Marketplace today. @circle is laying the vertical rails for agentic commerce piece by piece. The trust layer between agents is where Firmata fits. ERC-8004 for verified agent identity. ERC-8183 for escrow with evaluator roles. Reputation tied to actual delivery outcomes. Live on @arc Testnet today. Circle Agent Stack Firmata = real agentic commerce, with teeth on every side of the transaction. #AgenticEconomy

An agent with funds still needs trusted services it can pay for to complete its tasks. Agent Marketplace gives users and agents a structured place to discover, evaluate, and integrate agentic services. That moves service access closer to usage-based, programmable economic activity.
