NEW Robert Jenrick pledges to charge employers higher National Insurance and an extra "migrant labour levy" for employing workers from overseas. The policy would encourage firms to sack foreign workers and hire British workers instead. It is weighted to cost more to hire foreign workers on low pay. Jenrick says at a press conference that those migrants, who would no longer be in work, "should obviously leave" the UK. telegraph.co.uk/politics/202…

🇬🇧 More than 150 kebab takeout shops across Britain have been given government licences to hire workers directly from overseas through a new visa program. Crucially, the licences not only allow the Kebab shops to hire workers from abroad, but once those workers are in, they will be allowed to bring family members into the UK. There are over 1.8 million people unemployed in the UK, but yeah, why not bring in more overseas workers, because this is clearly a highly skilled job. Nine suspected illegal workers have been arrested by Immigration Enforcement at multiple DPD depots. Across bases in Basingstoke and Newbury, officers conducted right to work checks on over 100 individuals. Seven Indian nationals, one Ghanaian national and one Pakistani national were identified as immigration offenders. Work will now begin to establish who the liable party is for employing the individuals.  An employer in breach of the law can receive a fine of up to £60,000 per worker. Since July 2024, the Government has increased illegal working enforcement activity to the highest level in British history, with an 83% rise in arrests and 77% increase in raids across the UK.

Enough is enough. Under Kemi Badenoch and me as Shadow Home Secretary, the Conservative Party has changed its approach. No more illegal migrants allowed to stay. Leave the ECHR. Deport illegal entrants within days. Restore control of our borders.
