We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Marjane Satrapi.
Author of the internationally acclaimed Persepolis, translated into Hindi by Vani Prakashan and into Kannada by Chanda Pustaka, she leaves behind a body of work that has profoundly shaped our understanding of contemporary Iran, women's lives, and the power of graphic storytelling. Through her singular voice and unmistakable visual language, she opened a window onto history, memory, exile, and resistance for readers across the world.
We will always remember her generosity in joining us for the launch of the Hindi translation of Persepolis on 11 June 2021, at a time when the world was confined to its homes. She gave us her time, her warmth, and the opportunity to revisit a story that had touched so many lives.
