I fear it's already too late to prepare well for all threats, but not too late to survive, β Donald Tusk.
No European country can live in the "sweet illusion" of being spared from the war between NATO and russia, said the Polish Prime Minister. "You have no chance of winning if you aren't prepared to fight or at least sacrifice something," Tusk added.
He sees disturbing parallels to the events of the late 1930s: Some Western countries view the war in Ukraine and the tensions on NATO's eastern flank as distant, marginal issues. Much like Great Britain and France viewed Poland and Czechoslovakia.
"When I hear some European politicians saying, 'We must start thinking today about how we will one day restore our relations with russia'... I'm too old and not naiveβI know that means someone in Europe wants to restart Nord Stream 2 to profit from russian oil and gas. For me, these are very worrying signals," the Prime Minister said.
