Poor government funds rates means researchers have to rely more and more on philanthropy for their support. But as the economy tightens such funding is becoming harder to generate. Charities such as ours should be supplementing government funding not replacing it!

The lack of funding has so many impacts - promising projects are put on the back burner, highly qualified scientists leave due to lack of job security, innovation is stifled in favour of ‘safe’ research… it breaks my heart. @TheASMR1

Patients with ALS with lower BMI and lower hypothalamic volume have a higher risk of earlier death (hazard ratio 3.16, p-value: 0.03), compared with patients with mid BMI with high hypothalamic volume, and patients with high BMI with low hypothalamic volume.
