I am a consumer of SABC news & I have a right to comment on the rubbish they decide to bring to my screen, you will have to suck it up dear, unfortunately for you. You want me to talk about your husband so bad ngwanyana so here it goes; it seems like your husband obviously doesn’t know the law, otherwise we wouldn’t be seeing you time and again on our tv screens misquoting the law and it’s application. So I suggest that you start getting a second opinion for every piece of legal advice that he gives you. Section 42 is not a right Jacinta, the least you could do before digging for my attention is to be concerned about the misinformation, disinformation and uninformed inflammatory statements that you’re feeding to your constituency & the public in general. It’s embarrassing to say the least but they won’t tell you, instead they will clap for you because you possess the same level of IQ but as for me, I will comment when I hear rubbish on my tv. @SABCNews you have an ethical duty to guide against the spreading of misinformation & disinformation to our people. If you believe in building strong and sustainable institutions, don’t underestimate the value of researchers who are obsessed with credible data and evidence. Research is not Google searches, AI summaries, opinion pieces or repeating claims because they sound convincing. When leadership asks for research, it is a privilege and a responsibility that must be approached with patience, humility and seriousness. Imagine making a major claim about the economy based on an opinion article that cites a report, only to discover that the report itself relies on another opinion article in the Business Day (@BDliveSA) rather than official data. That is how weak evidence gets recycled until it starts sounding like fact. It is also how organisations and leaders end up being misled. I encourage all researchers to familiarise themselves with the work of Statistics South Africa (@StatsSA). Their officials are always professional, helpful and willing to assist those who genuinely want to understand the data. There is a reason we invite Stats SA to @EFFSouthAfrica Plenums every year. Where do I even begin to explain how this is statistically bankrupt?
