An illegal immigrant, Nelson Flores Galeas, who runs a child daycare with his wife, Maribel Mercado, in Alexandria, Virginia, s*xually assaulted a 3-year-old and was NOT PROSECUTED or DEPORTED! I obtained a report sent to the victim's mother, in which CPS states that they investigated the s*xual assault and determined it to be FOUNDED. They also placed Galeas on the Virginia Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry. Despite this evidence, Detective Jennifer Kay and Commonwealth Attorney Meghan Prieto informed the mother that they could not pursue the case because the victim was too young, and her testimony would not hold up in court. Additionally, Galeas cannot be arrested and deported due to Alexandria's "sanctuary" policies, as the Sheriff's Office does not participate in immigration enforcement.
