I read this book on the Shining Path in 2021. I became interested in them because Rage Against The Machine made a music video defending them. What I discovered was that they were easily the most evil left wing group of the 20th century. If they had won in Peru they would have implemented a Pol Pot style regime and killed 5 million people.
