To mark World Ocean Day, a new installation at Government House highlights the issue of ocean pollution and the importance of environmental stewardship.
“Whaleen,” a life-size sculpture of a young humpback whale, has been created using more than 1,000 pieces of marine debris collected from Bermuda’s shores.
Led by Bermudian artist Hannah Horsfield and supported by community volunteers, students, and environmental organisations, the project highlights both the beauty of our marine environment and the ongoing challenge of plastic pollution.
This collaborative effort reflects the strength of community action and the role we all play in protecting our oceans.
