Someone messaged me today, completely freaking out —
“Hey, I think I got hacked. I can’t get into my account 😭”
Turns out she clicked a fake login link from a DM and entered her info without thinking. A few hours later, she was locked out, and someone else was inside her account.
No two-factor. Same password she’s used for years. Total nightmare.
I helped her sort it out —
Reset all her passwords (this time with strong, unique ones)
Turned on 2FA everywhere
Checked login activity and kicked out unknown devices
Updated her recovery email and phone
Reported the suspicious message she clicked on
She’s lucky it didn’t go further — no bank or email access was compromised, but it easily could’ve been.
Just a reminder:
If you're not using 2FA, or if your passwords are all the same, fix that now.
It only takes one dumb link and one moment of panic to lose everything.
Stay safe online, fr.
