This week marked the release & delivery of a pretty remarkable edited collection from colleagues at Glasgow & @LuathPress. It contains an incredible *44* contributions & represents an affordable, accessible tour-de-force of cultural connections between Outlander & Scotland. (1/2)
I'm really thankful to have been included in the volume and to appear alongside so many talented and thoughtful folks. If you read it, I hope you love it. Huge thanks to all who were involved in making it happen! (2/2)

Yes, the great Duffy left a great deal of money to NTS, but even more valuable is his entire personal archive and research-in-progress, which the Trust currently holds & curates. We're still waiting to learn about how scholars & researchers might be able to access that material.
Pretty interesting record in one of Cumberland's order books from 11 May 1746, just a few weeks after Culloden. 5am rounds for troops to 'pluck heather for the tents', presumably to lay on top for insulation and protection from the rain.
With big congratulations to all the contributors and especially the editors, @LeithDavis and Kevin James, who herded all the cats. And, of course, @DANALAI6! @ScottishSfu@uofg
The time is nigh! Another fab programme for the JST Virtual Workshop is up and ready to kick off on Tuesday, 2 Sept. Following the keynote launch, we'll have fortnightly sessions on different aspects of #JacobiteStudies from a wide range of contributors.

Have any of us adequately expressed our thanks lately to @natlibscotmaps for their incredible (and free) digital mapping repository and resources? It's been of immense service as I write up a chapter on an 'incident' during the summer of 1746. And oh, Scottish place-names!
The new collection edited by @LeithDavis & Kevin James is now up for pre-order, and it's 30% off with the code NEW30 at @EdinburghUP. My chapter on #Jacobite witness networks appears alongside a wonderful collection of esteemed historians and scholars.
