Microbiome Diversity and Evolution in Leafhoppers Across Canada 🇨🇦
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD student to join our research group (
edelabcriv.ca/home) at Université Laval (Québec City, Canada) to investigate the diversity and evolution of the microbiome in Nearctic leafhoppers.
This exciting project will involve sequencing over 100 leafhopper species collected across Canada, with the goal of identifying strategies to manipulate the insect microbiome as a biocontrol tool, reducing the need for insecticides 🌿
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microbiology, entomology, genomics, or related fields, and a keen interest in insect–microbe interactions, symbiosis, or biological control. A Master’s degree is required (completed before the start date). Applications without a Master’s degree will not be considered.
