"It's very disheartening when you see children looking through garbage trying to find something they can sell or eat."
@GazaUNRWA tells @CNN the humanitarian situation in #Gaza is the worst he has ever seen, with diseases such as polio creeping up on children.
UNRWA is the largest primary healthcare provider in #Gaza, contributing to over half the health services provided to people. 85 medical points and 9 out of 26 @UNRWA health centres are still operational.
Health workers & facilities must be protected at all times #ActforHumanity
Humanitarian workers and assets must always be protected. Everywhere.
They are #NotATarget.
Warring sides must allow and facilitate the safe, rapid and unimpeded delivery of aid to people in need.

How much more do those in power need to see before they act? It's time they #ActForHumanity!
International humanitarian law is being violated, and civilians and aid workers are paying the price.

@UNRWA kicked off the activities for “back to learning” for children in #Gaza. This is the beginning of a long journey towards restoring education. We are starting psychosocial support through games, sports and fun activities.
The children of #Gaza experienced what no child should witness. We hope these activities will help them to slowly reconnect with their childhood.
We count on everyone’s support!
🔹 @GazaUNRWA described the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis as overstretched with not enough medical beds, hygiene equipment, and a lack of full services due to limited fuel and electricity.
🔹 Only 10 out of 26 @UNRWA health centres in the #GazaStrip are now operational.
"My colleagues from the humanitarian community are doing everything possible to increase medical capacity in #Gaza"
@GazaUNRWA says impediments to humanitarian operations prevent us supporting people "anywhere near the scale necessary."

Yesterday in the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, I witnessed some of the most horrific scenes I have seen in my 9 months in #Gaza
This overstretched health facility admitted well over 100 severe injuries. Civilians must be protected at all times ⬇️

"Everybody up here needs everything"
During a joint @UN mission to Gaza City yesterday to deliver urgent food, medical supplies & hygiene kits in two school-turned-shelters, @GazaUNRWA describes the "really basic needs" the population in north #Gaza still have.
We’re not receiving any aid into the #GazaStrip, the #Rafah crossing area has ongoing military operations - there have been continued bombardments in this area throughout the day.
No fuel or aid has entered into #GazaStrip and this is disastrous for the humanitarian response.
