Flashback (1992) by French studio Delphine Software and directed by Paul Cuisset was seen by many as the spiritual successor to Another World from 1991, though Eric Chahi was not involved at all.
In 2142, amnesiac agent Conrad B. Hart crashes in Titan's jungles, uncovering a Morph alien infiltration plot threatening Earth. It features rotoscoped animations for fluid Prince of Persia-style movement, hand-drawn backdrops, vector cutscenes, shooting, and puzzles. It blends action-adventure seamlessly and similar to Another World it tells the story through visuals, not text.
Acclaimed for atmosphere and innovation, it sold over 1.5 million copies, making it a Guinness book of records best-selling French game. It didn't quite have the same "wow" effect to me as Another World did, but it was still an excellent game.
