Must watch: Kevin Hollinrake trashes himself and the Conservative party on Newsnight - Robert Jenrick accuses Labour of a cover up over Southport - Kemi Badenoch joins him - Nicholas Watt explains how they are both wrong - Kevin Hollinrake joins Jenrick and Badenoch - Thangam Debbonaire can't believe that Hollinrake ignored Watt's explanation and doubled down on what Jenrick and Badenoch have said - Victoria Derbyshire challenges Hollinrake - Hollinrake doubles down, again - Debbonaire calls him out - Hollinrake repeats the false claim again - It's so bad Watt jumps in and explains to Hollinrake that he is wrong - Hollinrake ignores the explanation by Watt and doubles down again - It's so bad that Victoria Derbyshire has to step in, break up the disagreement and change the subject Your reminder that Hollinrake is the Shadow Secretary of State for Business and Trade of the UK - no wonder the Conservative party tanked the economy, with stupidity and arrogance like this

So it very much looks like the Tories have just had their 'should've elected David Miliband as leader' moment that Labour had in 2010. Cleverly isn't exactly a Major, a Heseltine, or a Ken Clarke, but he would've given Labour more to think about than the 2 barrel scrapers left

Excellent! Jenrick will be a disaster. We're praying the Tories choose Bad Enoch or Jenrick, just like we prayed they'd choose Truss
I have written today why I am supporting Robert Jenrick to regain trust, rebuild the Conservatives and restore a bright future forΒ ourΒ country. telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/09…

Either Jenrick or Bad Enoch winning the Tory leadership will keep them out of power for years on end. Come on Tory loons, don’t let us down πŸ˜‚

The great thing about the prolonged Tory leadership contest is that all of the candidates are truly awful
This is what @KemiBadenoch’s campaign is all about πŸ‘‡

Same here. We have fought hard to help extricate the country from the worst government in living memory and will continue to fight for a better UK We are not going to bow to a few cultists claiming we're 'not far left enough'
I’ve just spent a great number of years on here shouting to get rid of the worst government in our history. What I’m NOT going to do is waste any coming years arguing with a small minority of people who don’t think I’m far left enough (whatever that means) for their liking.
