Starmer wants 16-year-olds to vote, but not use social media. Old enough to choose the government. Too young to access the platforms where politics is debated. So where are they meant to get their information? Approved broadcasters? Government-approved content? School handouts?
This is digital ID by the back door. Children need protection online. But bad parenting is not an excuse to build a surveillance state and restrict the whole country. Starmer cannot control the border, crime, spending or his own party. So now he wants to control the internet. That is not child safety. That is a collapsing Prime Minister hunting for a legacy.
