I think the state that for three consecutive years kept flip flopping in the presidential race for change from the previous admin actually makes the biggest change of a Dem for governor look like the common sense choice.
no a socialist from madison cannot win statewide in trump won wisconsin. this is common sense.

What what what whoa that's fighting words, I don't even live there anymore Fine, enjoy your over a million of legal corporate personhoods, Pennsylvania gets to keep their boroughs and townships
My dearest Delawareans, happy Separation Day. Breaking free of the tyrannical yoke of both the United Kingdom, and the far worse Pennsylvania, was โ€” quite plainly โ€” one of our finest decisions. Two hundred and fifty years later, I felt behooved to send a message to mark the occasion.

I think a case where my education makes me an out of touch elitist is how I see collectivism Japan is a collectivist nation, lol, collectivist does NOT mean communism, it was really hard for me to figure out why people freaked out about Mamdani's collectivism comment
Americans in 2026 may still like the word individualism and hate the word collectivism, but they overwhelmingly want collectivism and it's what's driving our current politics. They want a statist policymaking, state capacity, they want community and a cohesive public sphere.

Ah so this is why you think El-Sayed is an extremist, wanting to get out of senseless wars and spending more money at home to make things more affordable *is* seem as extreme to you. When polls say Dems must "moderate" they mean populism, buddy, you're the liberal extremist.
Populism is a lot like sugar. It feels good in small doses, but going wild with it all the time leads to serious problems.

Actually thank you for this, I mean it from the bottom of my heart. We're trying to flip my county, Sangamon County (where the Illinois state capital is) from red to blue, and, fuck It might actually be doable, let the good trends continue and revert the bad ones!
2028 if all the trends I like continue and all the ones I donโ€™t like revert

I hate to be that guy but the upper threshold for human life is around 120 years old so what if he's only 2/3rds of the way
Today Donald Trump turns 80 and I am so, so sorry.

We're not asking the complete will of the masses, we're trying to explain to you why "$50K for your first house" is popular and isn't as economically bad as you claim and why the enthusiasm dried up the MOMENT Harris flipped it to "Up to $50K", people are tired of means tested bs
Because populism tends to be very dumb, vapid, completely misidentify the real problems, fail to understand why things are the way they are, promote brainrot conspiracy think, and offer completely impractical solutions that focus primarily on crowd pleasing to name a few reasons.

Most people would not even heard of a "Tim Walz" in 2024 without Melissa Hortman because it was ultimately Hortman's work at transforming Minnesota in two years, which Walz went along with, that made Harris choose Walz as her VP nominee.
One year ago today, Minnesota Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were senselessly murdered in an act of political violence. In their memory, we recommit ourselves to the values that Melissa and Mark exemplified: building a kinder, more just, and loving world.

Under capitalism's rules you'll find that if you cure cancer you ultimately won't be the one getting rich, somebody else who will get the trademark will, which is the whole problem
If I cure cancer I will get very rich. And a bunch of people on this site will apparently find my sudden wealth outrageous.

I have strongly believed since May 2025 (Zohran's surprise primary win) that Democrats were in a new era of politics that even I wouldn't fully be able to predict. And yeah was I right on my inability to predict this
RCP: Bill Maher endorses Graham Platner for US Senate in Maine Maher on Platner: โ€œI would still urge the folks in Maine to vote for him, for two reasons.โ€ โ€œOne, we need to restore balance in our government, and a Democratic Senate would help a lot with that.โ€ โ€œAnd two, get used to it, America is a country filled with a lot of broken, horribly educated, phone addicted, sort of nutty people, and as long as we live in a representative democracy, we are always electing our reflection in the mirror.โ€ Link to article: realclearpolitics.com/video/โ€ฆ

There an extended period of time where the universal liberal consensus was that it was racist and sexist to think working class voters factor economic issues in their calculus of who to support and it was one of the most insane and destructive things to ever happen to liberalism.
NEW: In 2018, white working-class voters approved of Trump on the economy by 30 points. Now they disapprove by as much as that margin in some polls. My piece on how Trumpโ€™s big blue-collar white vulnerability is reshaping the 2026 landscape nytimes.com/2026/06/13/us/poโ€ฆ

Hasan Piker is closer to the median voter in America than Third Way and people won't admit it because that means digging into the chaos of the American heart that people want to pretend is actually nice and orderly.

90s diet culture was crazyyyy
One of my favorite parts about the 90s is we just ate whatever food we wanted. Food was food. No one argued about what food was bad and what food was healthy. We just minded our business in general. At least thatโ€™s how I remember it
